Ty Blue...love it!
I remember back around 1970 or '71 standing on a break at the Troubador Club in Hollywood, talking in a huddle with Jim Webb(who was appearing there) and Johnny Rivers, Jim's old boss....Jim and I were (are) great Bacharach fans. I brought Burt up in the conversation. Johnny was telling us he got the offer to do the vocal to Casino Royale, but turned it down, cause he didn't like the material. He thought it was bad.
(it was a natural offer, since only a year or so before that did the Secret Agent Man theme)....but what I don't think he, or a few others who turned it down - realized the way they wanted it done...I think it was to be a done as a big spoof, and as such, not to be taken seriously, and this english chap, whoever he is, does a brilliant job at farcing the lyrics and song!
I love it!

It's a pity there's never been an expanded reissue of the CASINO ROYALE soundtrack with this finale track included! A search of the 'net, though, should yield streaming audio of the Nick Redway-credited single version of this rare performance!
Thanks...........

Steveo, Joe,
Thank you very much for the info, much appreciated !!!
Well, the last version - they're trying to turn it into a Tie Me kangaroo Down Sport!(in the first part)
Anyway, the song is rarely preformed, and I'm glad they are doing it...
I think??!!!
