It's ironic that it's always the UK's so-called 'intelligent' newspapers like the Guardian, the Times and the Independent that refer to Bacharach in those journalistically lazy and disparaging terms 'King of Easy' and 'Lounge King', while the red-top tabloids treat him with the respect he deserves by avoiding those terms and highlighting his remarkable achievements as a composer/arranger/producer/performer.
