Bacharach arrangements for small to medium size band

Post by russbrad »

Could anybody recommend a company or individual who can supply written musical arrangements of Bacharach tunes. My current band has a 4 piece rhythm section, plus trombone, alto sax and trumpet and a male lead singer. I know I need to add some strings and backing vocalists to make anything like an authentic sound. I've seen the losers lounge tribute on youtube, maybe arrangements for that size line-up would be useful. Any help or suggestions please.

Many thanks Russ :D

You might want to go to these 2 dfferent sites to get information.

1. http://www.loserslounge.com

2. masterminder@verizon.net

There are some cool arrangements for some of Burt's tunes arranged for small group combos...The thing is, if you have a guy in your band who can "tailor" or rearrange", that is, pair down or adapt the instrumentation to suit your particular set-up. some of these charts will serve you well..
Hal Leaonard publishing still has charts for sale on some of Burts tunes..
Was listening to What The World Needs NOw for jazz ensemble, from
their arrangement..as arranged by Mike Lewis..pretty nice
it is available for 45.00 off of sheetmusic plus website...
as I said, tho...the instrumentation will have to be changed a bit...but since a lot of the riffs are in octaves and unison, it could accomodate your band...
Sound samples are available for these charts go to:

Thanks for your help Vincent and Steveo.
I haven't yet had a reply from the losers lounge. I found another band in Australia that do a Bacharach tribute, but each member learnt their part from the recordings with nothing written down.
I did think the Hal Leonard arrangements sounded very good, but I'm getting prices for custom arrangements from shaunevans.com. I have a lot of his stock arrangements of Sinatra, Buble etc and these are excellent.
I'll probably end up continuing to use backing/karaoke tracks of Bacharach tunes on my solo gigs

Again thanks I'll stay in touch. Russ
