Sunny Weather Lover was written by Burt and Hal for Dionne's Friends Can Be Lovers CD. Hal's lyrics were beautiful..the end result..dissapointing for such an opportunity. Was this Burt's and Hal's last song together?

steveoreno;
When you say "end result .. disappointing" - are you referring to the song or the minimal commercial success of the single and the album? ........... I personally have always liked the song. I recall the single being favorably reviewed by Billboard and other publications.
Burt and Hal worked together 5 years later (1999) on the "Isn't She Great" (Bette Midler film) soundtrack which included the song "On My Way" performed by Dionne (another inimitable performance which I like as well!)

I believe the last tunes Burt and Hal did together were the Dionne title tune and the Vanessa Williams tune in Bette Midler's "Isn't She Great movie. This was around 1999 or 2000, I believe.

Post-ISN'T SHE GREAT, they also reunited to pen "Beginnings," which was originally intended as the closing number for the ill-fated Broadway revue THE LOOK OF LOVE. When the show's director scuttled "Beginnings" in favor of the familiar "What The World Needs Now," the song was rescued by Cilla Black, who recorded it on her album of the same name. It's currently available on iTunes along with a remix, I believe, via the current round of digital Cilla reissues. (Would that they were all released physically...but that's another thread, for another day!)

Thanks for the update. Had no idea they got together for that.
