The lyric to "Nikki"

Somewhere there is sunshine
Somewhere days are warm
Somewhere there's a happy harbor
Far from the storm

Out where the sun shines there is someone
I'm meant to adore
And I know the day I find her
I'll smile once more

Nikki, it s you
Nikki, where can you be?
It's you, no one but you for me
I've been so lonely since you went away
I won't spend a happy day 'til you're back in my arms

For ev'ry dream there is a dreamer
And when dreams are gone for each wish
Another star shines to wish upon
Take all my dreams and all my wishes
Hold them in your heart
Tell me soon we'll be together, never to part

Nikki, it's you
Nikki, where can you be?
Its you, no one but you for me
I've been so lonely since you went away
I won't spend a happy day 'til you're back in my arms

Don't make me wait here in the shadows
Till my life is done
I can't live without the sunshine
You are the sun

Oh Nikki, it's you

Bonjour An Enormous BB Fan;

Thanks for posting the Lyrics of Nikki! This is in my top 3 of Burt's Instrumental!

Ed Ames does a very good job with the vocals! It use to be on YouTube.

Take care mon ami.

Vincent

Although Burt used to be close to Ed Ames and his brothers group(he worked for the Ames brothers as their conductor)by the time of Burt's popularity as a personality, obviously they had drifted apart-but years later, when Ed decided to cut an entire album of Bacharach- David songs, he included this tune....curiously, or probably just because of prior commitments and time restraints...Burt did not arrange or conduct on the album...however there is a nice shot of Burt and Ed that was made at the time of the album's release...its on the back cover of the album.
The rare 1966 Burt instrumental single recording of this song on Liberty was more or less repeated when Burt re-cut it on his 1971 A&M album...its a wonderful chart.
