The Burt Bacharach Discussion Forum

James Kavanaugh passed away on Dec. 29th, 2009 after having surgery for an aortic aneurysm. Mr. Kavanaugh, who called for church reforms on many issues, also wrote the lyrics for two songs on the album Burt Bacharach released in 1977 titled, "Futures". He wrote lyrics to the songs, "We Should Have Met Sooner" (which was sung by Jamie Anders, whatever happened to him?) and "The Young Grow Younger Every Day", which was sung by Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary fame). The obit I read made no mention of this fact, instead relating that Mr. Kavanaugh was an author and a poet who also appeared on Johnny Carson's Tonight show and who left the priesthood after writing his first book.
