As members of the Turf Club in Del Mar, race season would bring celebrities to town and they would mingle together at the club. Beaty would entertain at her home with cliff-top bonfires with Hawaiian dancers. Guests included Burt Bacharach, Betty Grable, Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball.
"All of them were pretty nice people," Beaty said. "Lucy was a little hotsy-totsy, but the rest of them were all right."
