I have not listened to Rumer, so I guess I have to remedy that.
She is up for a Brit award.

I have to chuckle sometimes when the Americans around me think of the 1960-s as "The British Invasion" while Burt almost single-handedly formed the sound of sophisticated adult British popular music in the 1960-s.

David, that was so the case! I must say I clung on to the Bacharach sound right thru' that period as it was the only popular musicianship that made real sense to me. There was Simon and Garfunkel, Carole King etc but Burt's 'sound' blew me away. There is something so fabulous and sensual about it.

I think Rumer is great but I wish she wasn't always being termed the new Karen Carpenter. Karen was one of a kind with such extraordinary layers to her beautiful voice effortlessly accomplished.
