I thought "Isn't She Great?" was a pretty poor film, but it was great to hear Burt's music in it, nonetheless. I particularly like this, which I think is the best track on the entire album. It's both a traditionally "Burt" kind of sound, but with a little wistfulness thrown in, too. Hope you enjoy it, if you haven't already heard it. It's called, "I'm On My Way."

That's a truly classic Burt Bacharach/Hal David song and I love it! When the movie was released, Hal said that he thought he and Burt had another hit on their hands. But, for some reason, it wasn't to be so. But it deserved to be. Dionne sang it so well, too. It's a great song that didn't deserve to be overlooked.

Since it came out, I've considered this soundtrack album a wonderful, ecstatically-met gift - it's like Burt and Hal (and Dionne) deftly reached back in time and pulled up a companion to "What's New, Pussycat", "Casino Royale" and "After the Fox" - scores with incomparable Burt hooks, very playful and sometimes musically hilarious moments, and, not least, a couple or three superb songs. This is equally essential Bacharach, with a really throat-lumping, poignant slant; and, make no mistake, these are GREAT songs. I don't object to Vanessa Williams' singing, but rather wish Dionne had done vocals on both of them - I imagine the the reason she didn't was simple market bet hedging.

Isn`t it BURT who is doing the "side"vocals with Dionne ?
