Can anyone help? I'm looking for the jazz charts for The Blob. I don't know if they're available, but I'm hoping they are!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Emusicmommy,
The only 2 thngs that would be available would be the commercial sheet music published in the late 50s and the stock orchestration that was published at that time as well. They will not be an exact copy of the record, but will have elements of the it..finding these is the hard part...I suggest eBAY and websites that sell old stocks(printed dance band arrangements made for the public)

Best,

Steveo

Thanks so much for the advice. I've been looking, but no luck so far. I came across one vintage piano part, but it was already sold. If you know of any vintage sheet music places, please let me know! I found one, but they don't have the song listed. Worse case, I'll just do it the hard way...

I see the sheet music on etsy.com is sold..it does have a nice picture of the sheet music on the site.Oddly enough, if you click on the different pictures there is a photograph of the sheet music, and you can kind of see it...might be too blurry though...heres a college that has a copy- you can write them:
http://speccoll.library.kent.edu/music/ ... tmusB.html

what part of the song is intriguing you...is there some special part that you need to know how its done? perhaps i can help You can write Famous music co. in Hollywood or New York City and tell them you are trying to find a lead sheet or piano copy on the song..They might send you one.

I can extract the parts from the recording just by listening, but I was really hoping to save myself the time. We have a group here that we're trying to plug it in their lineup for a Halloween dance function. I have a lot of tunes to write out, and I was just hoping this one could be avoided. This one isn't so bad, actually. The other big band pieces I'm hoping to find are the ones I'm really worried about, but I'm on the wrong forum for that! LOL!

Etsy was the one I was referring to. I wrote the seller who has agreed to contact the buyer...if nothing else, but to scan it and send it to me. I can't believe how hard this has been to find! At any rate, I do very much appreciate your effort in helping me out! I may utilize your link if my other source doesn't pan out, so I do very much appreciate the help and extra eyes on the searching!

My pleasure to help out...I know what its like trying to find a golden oldie that one
loves... albeit record, sheet music, etc. I have found a lot of stuff that is out of print that I didn't even know existed...for example, there's a really cool upbeat jazz instrumental by George Shearing from back in the day...we had the 78..and I recently found out there was sheet music published on it...that tune wold be the genius composition "Brain Wave" by George from 1950.

Good Luck on your endeavors.
