Many girlgroups are often linked with certain songwriting teams similar to dionne.burt n hal. Some of my fave combos are very under the.radar. Oje is the royalettes and teddy randazzo n,bobby weinstein. Alot of burt.fans.would find their music very similar and the lead singer had a singing styoe similar to dionne.
Sounds like dionne singingstraight from the Bacharach songbook. Y were they not big?

Then of course there is there signature song. I,think the lqck of tvs worked against some artists backm then including them. The lead singer has.a sweet shy angelic charisma to her(look at how she looks away from the.camera and smiles betwen 220 and 225). I doubt any of the og's on this board even knew what the lead singer of the.group looked like. Why wasnt this girl lauded the way Marilyn Mccoo was? Who got some sixties drama tmz style?

Because she wasn`t as stunningly beautiful as Marilyn McCoo.

Its almost unfair to compare anyone to marilyn mccoo. However the lead singer of the royalettes is beautiful in her own right in an innocent shy girl new to fame kinda way(tho she could be my grandma by now).I am sure she is the image labels dreamed of when they searched inner city high schools looking for talent.

Any self respecting Bacharach fan should be familiar or be in possession of the album: The Elegant Sounds of the Royalettes. They are the definition of class itself. There is not one bad song on the album. Teddy Randazzo earned his place in the discussion of the eternal greats just based off of this album alone. The sweeping orchestrations are so ethereal and heavenly i just cant take it. I just wished Teddy has produced in this style all the time. I will post them on here for you lazy schmucks. No Bacharach fan will regret listening to this album.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGEeQ2b44QE Its better not to know ( very obvious this was suppose to follow up on its gonna take a miracle by sticking with the formula exactly)
I posted over a dozen of the most beautiful songs known to man and al I get is silence and crickets. Is anyone home???????

Geoff, you`re right.
I had forgotten a lot of this and, frankly, don`t travel down Memory Lane any more; but this is great stuff for its genre and the time.
And, yes, Sheila Ross is beautiful.

Glad to have finally won you over Blair. I dont create false alarm. These songs are insanely beautiful. The production is as high quality as you would get on any Dionne/Bacharach album.
Yes Sheila is a natural beauty. It always amazes me how these producers could go into the roughest neighborhoods and find girls with the most angelic voices with such refined poise. Royalettes rock.

The Royalettes are for me outstanding girl group, which have no typical sound for a girl group! The colloboration Royalettes/Randazzo/Weinstein is the same high level as Warwick/Bacharach/David! I feel sad about the fact that the Royalettes cut not more Albums with Randazzo/Weinstein, in my opinion it is easier for a record company to establish a solo singer to an adult audience as a girl group, so I think that was the main difficulties with The Royalettes. A little similar situation we had with Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles during their Atlantic time, for me this time was the best for the group. All these fantastic collobarations were ahaed of their time!

You dont need me to tell you how much I agree with them being on the same level as warwich/bacharach which is why i posted them. That whole album from front to back is just as good as music gets. The real pity is that they only did one. They had the formula down pat they could have produced hundreds of songs like that had they done more music.
