Re: Burt on tv tonight
Repeats on:
Friday, Feb. 26th @ 11:00 am
Sunday, Feb. 28th @ 7:00 pm
Guests: Cass Elliot, Ray Charles & the Raelets, Simon & Garfunkel, Burt Bacharach (the Raylets, background vocals)
"Alfie" is edited out of the Williams/Bacharach medley for some reason (weren't able to get the rights??).
During Simon & Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson", the audience is heard laughing at various times during the song, which had just been released the previous day.
Exquisite 3 part harmony by Simon & Garfunkel & Andy Williams on "Scarborough Fair/Canticle".
Loved the way Andy Williams grabs the sax, lying on the piano top, as it starts to slide off as Ray Charles pounds the keys!
"Mama Cass" is how it's listed at the opening credits, but Andy calls her "Cass Elliot" (Don't call me Mama Anymore!!)
