He was also on good form the other day on BBC Radio 4's obituary show 'Last Word', talking about his old friend Sergio Mendes and remembering when in the 60s he and his Tijuana Brass first toured with Sergio and Brasil '66 and how he warned his band not to fraternise with the two girl singers, leaving the coast clear for him to home-in on Lani Hall.
