For Burt Bacharach, what it’s all about is continuing to write and record music. Not many pop legends in their 90s are releasing new music this year instead of fondly gazing at their trophy shelves, but Bacharach, one of the most celebrated songwriters in pop history, has found a new partner and muse in Daniel Tashian, the Nashville-based singer, songwriter and producer.

Pop legend Burt Bacharach has teamed with Grammy-winning Kacey Musgraves collaborator (and Silver Seas cofounder) Daniel Tashian for a new EP titled Blue Umbrella that’ll be out July 31 on Big Yellow Dog Music. It’s the first record from Bacharach, who turned 92 in May, in 15 years.

Burt Bacharach and Daniel Tashian have collaborated on a Blue Umbrella EP, out July 31 on Big Yellow Dog Music. The project marks Bacharach’s first album in 15 years. The album was recorded in Nashville and features Tashian on vocals and Bacharach on piano, along with musicians Dennis Crouch, Fred Eltringham, Tom Bukovac, and Jim Hoke.
