Ennio Morricone

Post by Hank »

Here's a link to an Ennio Morricone number.
As some of the Youtube comments note, this differs a bit from the original (and the original is much better)...
However, what with the gorgeous melodys and rhythms and the whacky vocals, I felt this could have come from the Butch Cassidy score.
Do other Burt fans share a love of Morricone ?

I have always loved his music. He's an original and his music is a joy to listen to. He, like Burt, is blessed with such a gift for melody.

From Eumir Deodato's site, under What's New (scroll down)

February 2007
Tribute to Ennio Morricone
Deodato has just finished a new track for the CD to be released very soon by SONY Records called We All Love Morricone . The track is entitled "Fica Comigo" also known as "Hurry To Me", and features Daniela Mercury on vocals (duet with Deodato, singing!). Some of the other artists in the record are: Celine Dion, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), Bruce Springstein (playing guitar!), Andrea Bocelli, Metallica (instrumental!), Yo-Yo Ma, Chris Botti, and many others. DON'T MISS THIS ONE!

I just found his recording of Hermeto's Bebê. I thought I would never listen to this one again. It is short, don't worry. (There's a great one, IMHO, with Sivuca and Hermeto on YouTube. Longer, but no fillers, just great musicianship. Deodato began playing the accordion, an instrument that both Sivuca and Hermeto master to perfection.)

His parents were _Italian_ and Portuguese.
