Composer Burt Bacharach is one of the most prolific and successful composers of contemporary American popular music in a songwriting career that today extends nearly seven decades, with over seventy nationally charted Top 40 pop hits since the start of the rock & roll era in there 1950's.

Joel Najman's My Place program this week is titled "An Evening With Burt Bacharach" and features several of his major successes as well as several recently unearthed obscurities from very early in his career.

Memorable recordings by Dusty Springfield, Herb Alpert and The Shirelles are presented, as well as the telling of the circumstances of Burt's first meeting with Dionne Warwick, for whom he and lyricist Hal David wrote over forty nationally charted hit singles.

I would just click on the link. I think it's an internet or radio broadcast.

I Believe there is a 5 hour difference in England. I guess it's 1:00 AM (Sunday, June 26, 2011) your time.
