R.I.P.: Jerry Leiber, Nick Ashford

Two very gifted and talented musical icons passed away today. Jerry Leiber, the lyricist of the partnership Leiber and Stoller died unexpectedly of cardiopulmonary difficulties at age 78. Nicholas Ashford, of the song-writing team Ashford and Simpson, died of throat cancer at age 70. Both will be greatly missed.

Both men, legends, whose talents brought many years of listening joy to many of us. I just listened to Ashford & Simpson's, "Love Goes On", the Love Theme from "The Golden Child". The music was written by the late Michel Colombier. It's from a new 3 cd original soundtrack from that movie. It contains two separate scores: Michel Colombier's and John Barry's, a fascinating look at how two huge talents created their magic!
