Thanks again, Vincent! Another great interview! As Mitch said, he would have loved for the interview to go on for another 7 hours. I've waited years and years to watch two great interviews with Burt like the 2 you posted here.

When Burt was asked about favorite songwriters, I was so very happy to hear him mention Holland-Dozier-Holland. I never heard him mention them before. And I always figured that Burt would have had to have recognized the genius of that songwriting team. And I finally now heard him mention them. Burt mentioned Carole King and Gerry Goffin, but, as good as they were, I think H-D-H created more exciting songs. In fact, H-D-H changed the face of music. Motown would not have been the same without them. And Burt also mentioned Gamble and Huff and I'm so happy that he did because they were geniuses also.

I found it kind of odd that Burt couldn't remember exactly how many years ago it was that Nikki died. I know how painful that is to him, but still. I have a feeling that Burt knows the date, but just would rather not talk about it or think about it... perhaps. In a way, I'm sorry that the interviewer has to bring it up; but, certainly, I understand the need for an interviewer to go there. It's just such a sad subject.

Burt also mentioned how Marlene's music "sucked," as he put it. For a composer like Burt, it had to be hard to listen and conduct that music. But he did write some great arrangements for Marlene.

I loved how Burt explained seeing his name in huge letter in Las Vegas and Vic Damone's in smaller letters underneath his. He said that it was very tough for me being fired by Vic. Well, he did get his revenge, didn't he?, and it was so sweet.

This is another video that I'll be watching again soon. Between this video and the other one, it's 2 great hours!
