Rita Reys a famous dutch jazz singer died today at the age of 88.
In the early seventies she did an album with songs from BURT and HAL.
For this album she received the dutch Edison Award.

Sad news. I've had her Bacharach LP since the 70s and still dip into it regularly. Here's her lovely version of the beautiful and still underated 'Paper Mache':

Blue, my hand is up in ignorance too. I`m reasonably sure I had never even seen her name in print before and I thought that I had at least heard OF nearly everyone by now. I can`t say I hear Ms. Reys as a jazz singer, `though. The irreplaceable Carmen McRae took top honors in that category for my taste.
