The Grammy Awards
What passes for well-written and Grammy-worth songs these days is appalling! I can only imagine what Burt thinks when he hears these mounds of mediocrity! Your thoughts?

None of us should be paying even casual attention to nonsense like this

Re: The Grammy Awards
In my view, it`s not a particular genre that grates (after all, rap has been with us since the mid-70s for godsake) but the awards culture itself. I looked at the jaw-dropping number of categories and could make no sense of it. I`d be happy if there could somehow be a cessation to assigning numbers and doling out statuettes based on nothing more than sales figures and media hype.
Do I like contemporary pop? No. That`s why I don`t pay any attention to it. Just tune it out and listen to what you do like.

Are There talented young composers? Yes, there are.
Unfortunately they are not indicated for The Grammy Awards.
So not worth wasting time to see this mediocrity.

Re: The Grammy Awards
Awards shows are promotional tools at their core, ie. "artist X has a spike in sales after winning X award".

Re: The Grammy Awards
The Grammy salute to Stevie Wonder was first-rate. There's another composer whose prime period material has held up extremely well (IMO).
