Nicko,
I also at the Manchester concert last night and it was the first time I'd seen Burt perform "live"
with an Orchestra........it was a true revelation !
I fully agree with you, Josie's performances of "Anyone Who Had A Heart" and "Be Aware" were awesome !
I also liked the new song "Hush" sung by Bill Cantos, what a beautiful melody !
As each song was played I heard several members of the audience gasping "Oh my God, he didn't write that one as well did he ? lol
When Burt conducted the "strings" on "Wives and Lovers" it was the closest I've ever heard to a "musical orgasm"....if you'll pardon the expression.
All in all a great night with Burt, Josie, John,Donna and Bill on top form.
And dare I say it....far better than the Glastonbury performance !

Oh, and that Orchestra....WOW !!!

The presence of the orchestra was one of the reasons i went to this show, can you believe that Burt met them for the first time at 2pm yesterday, and they had never worked together before!
I guess that's what you get with professionals.

What was the song that John Pagano did with the guitar? There were so many songs you lose track of them.

Wouldn't it be great if one day Dionne Warwick could make a "special guest" appearance at one of Burt's concert's......it would blow the roof off !

Just a thought......

Did you catch Paloma Faith at the side of the stage (31.40) singing along with 'The Look of Love' .

Thanks Nicko for posting the link!

A great show. Yes, at 87 he's still pulling appreciative crowds of all ages.

I'm sure a lot of them were saying about some of the songs, "Oh, I never realised he wrote that one........!"

All the concerts of the UK tour have received very positive reviews, none better than for the last night at Bristol. Here's a reviewer who not only fully appreciates the music but understands Bacharach's legacy, so the terms 'singer', 'singer-songwriter' and even 'crooner' are nowhere to be found unlike, sadly, the majority of the reviews for the rest of the tour.

Having watched the video of this concert, I was left with two reactions.
1. It was great to see so many young people genuinely loving it.
2. There`s room in this set for more than just the hits. I wish Burt would dig a little deeper into his catalogue.

We've Had "Raindrops" and "Come Touch The Sun" from "Butch Cassidy"
How about "South American Getaway" ?

Well, that might require more than three singers to pull off. I`d like to hear three or four from way off the beaten track. Anyone here could make a list, but "Joanie`s Forever" would be a real startler. "Come and Get Me" would be great to hear. Even forgotten minor hits like "Saturday Sunshine" would be welcome.
I just think it`s time to retire "Raindrops..." and some other over-exposed material. Everyone and his dog is sick of them by now.
