STARS PLAN A BIG TURN-OUT FOR LUTHER'S SEND-OFF
DIONNE WARWICK, ALICIA KEYS, BETTE MIDLER and DIANA ROSS will be among the stars saying a fond farewell to soul legend LUTHER VANDROSS today (08JUL05) as the singer is remembered at a memorial service in New York.
Hundreds of fans and friends paid their last respects to the DANCE WITH MY FATHER hitmaker earlier this week (06-07JUL05) as the singer's body lay in a golden casket at Manhattan's Frank E Campbell Funeral Home - but today will be his big send-off.
Best friends ARETHA FRANKLIN, STEVIE WONDER and CISSY HOUSTON are expected to pay a musical tribute to the legendary songman at the funeral ceremony at Riverside Church, which is set to bring Manhattan to a standstill.
Warwick and PATTI LABELLE are expected to speak at the memorial service.
Vandross died last Friday (01JUL05) at the age of 54.
