Leonard Cohen Is Gone

Re: Leonard Cohen Is Gone
A unique and major talent for sure and one who apparently didn't take himself too seriously. I wonder if he ever heard this affectionate spoof sung and composed by Pete Atkin and with lyrics by Clive James, 'Doom From A Room':

Yes, Leonard Cohen is definitely up there with the best as a writer, although perhaps an acquired taste as a performer.
I used to own Pete Atkin's Live Libel LP that included Doom From A Room and which also included parodies of other singer-songwriters like Kris Kristofferson. When his songwriting partnership with Clive James came to an end he put his performing career on hold to become a BBC Radio 4 producer of comedy. Here's his Song For Rita in the style of Kris Kristofferson which features a brilliantly funny lyric by Clive James:

Thanks Sara for leading me to Pete Atkin's website.
