New Album

I've just heard a track from Burt's new solo album. It was called "Please Explain". Can anyone tell me when the album is due out and what it's called. Fab track! I'm hooked!

The Sony Music Store has the new album available for pre-order BUT only on Vinyl!? Amazon, both US and UK have no info.

I spoke with a buddy of mine today who is a Sony rep here in the U.S. The reason the LP is listed as vinyl only on the Sony Music Site is because there hasn't been a decision made yet if Sony will release it as a dual disc or not. A dual disc is audio on one side and DVD on the other. The vinyl release is set for 9-27 but he was doubtful that it would actually be released on that date due to the fact there is no cover art listed on the site. The vinyl release is scheduled for the US, once cover art has been decided. The UK could see a straight (not dual disc) CD release of it before we see it here in the US. He stated that the US wouldn't see a CD release (dual or not) until after the first of the year.

Thank you, guest, for sharing that info from your "connected" guest. As for the original post, Karen, I'm sure that I am not alone in wanting to know a little bit more about your hearing one of Burt's new songs. Could you kindly shed some more light on it?

Last but certainly not least, I too wanted to voice my concern for Mark and his family and convey my sincere hope that your lives are soon returned to a safe, secure and "normal" place. Godspeed.

Thanks for the info.

Updates to the main website are going to be sporadic over the next few months, so everyone please keep your ears open and post anything you hear about the new album here in the discussion forum. Hopefully, we can all keep each other informed.

Still waiting to hear how Karen was able to hear the 'Please Explain' cut. She must have a VERY inside track since it hasn't even been pressed as of 9-7.

I am from the UK and I heard the track on a soul music radio station available on the internet called Solar Radio "Solaradio.com". I've no idea how they got hold of the track..... but it was REALLY good!

I have not followed Burt Bacharach's music over the years (some would say I'm too young), but I heard this Sunday morning and just had to find out more.
