Well i wasnt alive to see them during the day but its the first thing that comes to mind when i see the reruns. Mary Tyler Moore died today and silly me never knew that her theme song for her self titled show was written back then as id always heard the new mellenium pop rock version in commercials. I have incuded a bunch of 70's opening themes that could have been written by Burt.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Zfti7b31rs Mary Tyler opening theme( a little Burt a little Paul Williams a little Richard Carpenter)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zoh1LGADKI8 that girl opening theme( a little burt mixed with fifth dimension/jimmy webb)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcaUluahdwM room 222 ( sounds like a lost instrumental from lost horizons soundtrack especially from 100 onwards)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZzEzDkeHzI welcome back kotter( sounds like a pseudo 2/4 bacharach song i.e. everybodys outta town meets the holland dozier team kinda has a supreme tempo to it).

Just the opinions of a mellenial who prob doesnt know what the hell he is talking about but let me know how crazy you think i am.

I agree completely with all but "Kotter" theme. Burt has influenced so many otherwise mediocre composers.

I think Sonny Curtis is overlooked (wrote the MTM theme) .. He's always been a little under the radar.

"I Fought The Law" (Bobby Fuller Four) ... "Walk Right Back" (Everlys) .,. "The Straight Life" (Bobby Goldsboro) are three icons. The last is chock full of hooks in a somewhat Burty way.

Kotter theme gives me that Everybodys Outta Town vibe.
