Buffalo
I saw Burt perform for the first time last night in Buffalo. Since I suspect I`m the only one on this forum not to have seen him 70 or 80 times before, I won`t go through the set list which< in any event, probably hasn`t changed greatly in years. The Kleinshal is a beautiful venue and it must have been 85 to 90% filled. The surprises of the evening included the public premieres of WhoAre These People and Where Did It Go, as well as the inclusion of Liberty Valence, World Is a Circle, and Making Love in the movie medley. His core group (including singers) augmented the brilliant Buffalo Philharmonic. Great performance!

Please, tell us - what did you think of "Who are these people" and "Where did it go?" steve

Burt apologized for reading the score to Where Did It Go and admitted to being nervous in general about these debuts but, needless to say, they both came off beautifully. The former suffered not at all for being without the recorded loops and the second was managed perfectly by his singers (John, Donna, and Josie--who also did a show-stopping rendition of Anyone Who Had a Heart).

I am very happy that you finally made it to one of Burt’s Concerts, even though you had to fly their. But I guess it was worth the trek, according to your report!
And this probably won’t be your last either. Blair, next time try and see if you can meet Burt and his band members after the show along with the many great fans! To me this is the 2nd ½ of the concert experience!
Take care, mon am.
