BUTCH CASSIDY questions

I have 2 questions about BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID (my apologies if they've been asked before):

1. Does the German CD released in 2003 have superior audio quality to A&M's CD released in the early 1990s?
2. Were the lyrics to "Not Goin' Home Anymore" written by Hal David before or after the movie was released and who recorded the song with the lyrics other than The Sandpipers?

I don't know the answer to your question regarding the sound quality of the German import of Butch & Sundance although I was wondering the same thing about the Japanese import that just came out. I have the limited edition version that came out domestically a couple years ago (nicely bound collection of all of Burt's A&M albums) and while that issue was a big improvement over previous issues, it was nonetheless clear that they were still using a tape that had been processed in a particular way (that was, presumably, thought to provide superior sound on vinyl once upon a time). The name of the process escapes me offhand.

I bought A&M's BUTCH CASSIDY which was recorded at about the same time as A&M's Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66's CLASSIC cd. Both cd's have a rather small, two-dimensional sound.
Later, I bought Bacharach's 1995 EASY LOUNGIN' cd from Germany's Polydor label which has "South American Getaway" and Brasil 66's LOOK AROUND remaster on the Verve label released in 2000.
The Polydor and Verve cd's have much better sound than the 2 earlier A&M cd's---I assume because of the superior digital recording technology since the older A&M cd's were released. Also, the 2003 A&M BURT BACHARACH CLASSICS cd has even better audio quality than the 1995 Polydor on the same songs.
If the German import of BUTCH CASSIDY had better audio than the old A&M, it would be worth the cost.
If anyone has the German BUTCH CASSIDY cd, I'd appreciate any info on its audio quality.

PS.....I got the original CASINO ROYALE cd (early 1990s release) and the reissue cd (2002 release). The 2002 CASINO ROYALE cd has far superior audio quality than the original.
