Burt and Jane ran Go Ask Shakespeare, a 3 year-old colt, last Saturday at Del Mar. It was the first time the horse ever raced and he did so from the unenviable #1 post position. (The rail post in sprint races at Del Mar is pretty tricky, especially for a young horse.)
The winner of the race was bet heavily and is well regarded. Although 'Shakespeare' didn't finish particularly well, he did show early speed which is usually a good sign, even if it's brief.
