Burt is such a great exponent of songs in waltz time. There's something about that time signature that really grabs me. Does anybody else feel the same ?

Spot on Blue. This is one of my favorites too. Did I read somewhere that Come Touch The Sun wasn't actually featured in the movie ? If not, what a loss to the viewers....

and at the end of this memorable scene.....in "piano" form.....

Hi Hank,
You mentioned George Michael's "Cowboys and Angels" and I couldn't help thinking of a song from that same early 90's period by British singer/songwriter Nicky Holland and a song she wrote with Lloyd Cole called "Lady Killer".

I've thought of another good one - Mr. Guder by the Carpenters has 3/4 and 4/4 sections within it; 3/4 seems to cause a spinning, quickening and almost unstable effect. Just as in the George Michael track.

This was a selection by Zoe Ball on a recent Desert Island Discs. I really recommend the Desert Island Discs podcast if anyone is struggling to fill the hours of self isolation. They have an amazing archive going back to the early 50's (?)

Let`s not forget this chestnut. It was a huge hit for, I believe, Jane Morgan. But everybody and his dog covered it. This arrangement for Anna Maria Alberghetti is a bit treacly but it`s the original version from the Broadway musical Carnival. When it was made into a movie (re-titled Lili), Leslie Caron did a version I like better but it`s in the middle of a long filmclip on YouTube so I settled for the former:
