First, what's up with all the porn ads on this site? Can we get rid of them?
Second, has anyone heard anything about a proposed revival of "Promises, Promises" on Broadway? A reading was done in October with Sean Hayes (from Will & Grace) and Anne Hathaway. Craig Zadan and others, including the Weinsteins, are said to be interested in mounting the project. I haven't been able to find out much more about it though.

I agree, Steve. These ads, as far as I'm concerned, mess up this great site. It's like having someone throw garbage into where you live. I imagine that Mark is the only one who can delete them, and if he's not around, then they stay until he gets here. I wish I could understand how and why people do this and how they find a site like this one. It started out where you have maybe one or two of these porn threads. Now it's getting out of hand. And I'm afraid that if someone new happens to come here, they'll see those threads and just leave. The internet is the greatest thing ever, and low-lifes just want to ruin it.
I also read about Sean Hayes doing "Promises, Promises". Quite frankly, while I didn't like that choice, I still would love to see the show on Broadway again. Burt's music is as fresh as the day he wrote it. I saw the original (with Jerry Orbach and Jill O'Hara) on Broadway and it was fantastic. Just hearing the overture was spine tingling.
I found the following at broadwayworld.com, but it simply says what you know. I also haven't seen anything more about this production. I'm afraid it might not be happening -- especially in this horrible economy. Jane Fonda is opening in a play on Broadway in a few weeks. There was an article about how the producers had trouble raising money for it. And that's just a play -- starring a very famous movie star. Of course, I'm just guessing about "Promises, Promises." I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks, Enormous Fan. I had seen that same Broadway site. I also heard that a revival of "Godspell" was cancelled last fall for that same reason - in the current economy, several woulda-been producers withdrew. From what I read, the choices of both Sean and Anne were solely for the reading (though sometimes that's a harbinger of the cast to come). "Promises" is due for a revival, having never had one on Broadway. I hope we are lucky enough to live to see it happen.
