He works like Burt!

Here is a quotation from tomorrow's New York Times article on the great composer Ennio Morricone.
"“He doesn’t have a piano in his studio,†said the director Barry Levinson, who commissioned Mr. Morricone for “Bugsy,†a soundtrack nominated for an Academy Award. “I always thought that with composers, you sit at the piano, and you try to find the melody. There’s no such thing with him. He hears a melody, and he writes it down. He hears the orchestration completely done.â€
This could describe Burt to a tee, I would imagine. I guess some great composers can do this. It all seems so remarkable and unbelievable to me. But I do love reading about this stuff.
