Trijntje Finally Accepts Burt's Personal Invitation :)

Post by l3r0y »

Burt's new muze Trijntje, has finally accepted Burt's personal invitation to perform with him on stage, during his concerttour in Japan :).

Burt called Trijntje a national treasure, the perfect voice for his songs, an amazing singer and much more...

Trijntje finds Burt a living legend en said that his songs makes her sing more beautiful...

Afther working together on two albums ( both 2x platinum ), with on the last album a brand new song 'Who'll Speak For Love'...these two legends are finally performing together :)

What's the next thing these two are gonna do together? Whatever it is, it will be great, special and amazing :)

Burt and Trijntje

Post by Steve Schenck »

Roberto, thanks so much for posting this video! What a TERRIFIC rendition! These great songs never grow old. I love to hear covers like this - it's faithful to Burt's spirit and original genius, but it still adds something new. The more subtle, subdued arrangement was terrific! I loved the live orchestra, seeing the strings players, the flugel horn player, and of course, Trijntje herself. The modulation in the last third of the song was most effective and unexpected. Kudos to the arranger and the live orchestra!

Seeing the title of the video I was expecting a short promo for the album. Shame it's so dark that Trijnte is but a shadow.....and hearing that straight G major chord in place of the maj 7th will always grate. Why do arrangers persist in monkeying around with Bacharach's immaculately crafted chord sequences, when substituting just one chord can detract so much from the magic. Still, it's undeniable that Trijnte is a wonderfully emotive singer and the best interpreter of Bacharach I've heard for a generation.
