Does anyone have a link where I can hear the whole track on the internet? This goodly sounding song seems to have missed me by in my Bachareducation.

Sorry to be pedantic but the actual title is Captives of the Heart. I think it's the best thing Bacharach has written for Dionne Warwick since the 70s and so was more than a little surprised when Serene Dominick was almost dismissive of it in his Bacharach: Song by Song book. A rare lapse in taste in an otherwise exceptional book.

So I ordered the CD from Amazon and it took 2 weeks to get shipped to London - Would've been quicker by pigeon. Anyway it's certainly a lovely track, very complex.

Remarkably Burt does not repeat the sublime "nothing's ever gonna gonna change..." section which only features once in the whole song. I suppose you don't need to repeat genius.

I remember that the song was featured twice in the 1995 BBC TV documentary Burt Bacharach: This is Now; once during a scene showing Bacharach and Warwick in rehearsal with the band and orchestra and then later at the concert itself in Monte Carlo. I agree with Sara and think it's the best thing the pair have done together since the Dionne album from 1972.

It was indeed on the documentary This Is Now.........Burt Bacharach.
I love it when Burt is playing on the piano with the rehearsel
Burt wrote the song together with John Bettis.
And you can find and hear the song on the album Aqua Do Brasil!
However i read in a magazine once, that the critisism didn`t like the song!
Maybe because its different then the other songs on the album?
I`m not for shure but, i like the song
Hey Burt make a new album and use this song in an instrumental version! :D

About Brasil?
It is some kind of statement of Dionne how she feels about her Brasilian life there!
Each time when she is doing a gig she promote Brasil with those lovely songs!
And lets be honest brasilian music is great!
Let there no doubt about it? I am a true full BURT fan!
Listen to "The Look Of Love"or "Walk The Way You Talk" very much Brasilian influences in it!
That is what captured BURT!

Kind regards
Marcel :D
