Elton John did a one-off concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London last week as a fund-raiser for his old college. Literally just him on the piano apparently, until the second half when he was joined by a drummer/percussionist (an old friend). No backing singers, no synthesisers, no band. Oh, and no light show either, I'm told. He did all the old songs. It got rave reviews in the papers, and the audience (presumably serious Elton fans) were apparently ecstatic, raised-the-roof sort of stuff.
Do you think Burt could pull this off?

Yeah! Screw Barbra Streisand; get Burt into the Vanguard for a night ...or two...or ten!
Okay, the sightlines are awful from a lot of seats, but the acoustics are unparalleled.
Someone with Burt`s ear really ought to bug him about this.
