I don`t recall seeing here any discussion of Making Records, a terrific 2007 publication. I just stumbled across it. Phil reveals technical and personal details of innumerable recording sessions with a staggering range of artists. It`s a rich and satisfying read by someone who comes across as not only a consummate professional and unique talent but a gentleman and all `round class act. I feel sadder than ever that he`s gone.

Did he write a lot about Burt/Hal/Dionne? If he did, I'll need to get the book for sure.

There`s not a great deal about those three (and a bit too much about Billy Joel) but you`ll find it rewarding anyway.
